Las Palmas Back In La Liga!

UD Las Palmas will be back in La Liga after 13 years by virtue of beating Real Zaragoza in the play-off finals. The team had lost the first leg of the final by a margin of 3-1, but the away goal proved to be decisive, as Las Palmas managed to beat the northern Spanish team by 2-0. Former Barcelona player Sergio Araujo scored the decisive second goal of the game in the 85th minute and helped the club forget about last year’s play-off final that went Cordoba’s way in the dying minutes of the second leg.

There is no doubt that the upcoming La Liga campaign will be about survival and about avoiding Cordoba’s fate of coming dead last and returning to the second tier after only one season.
