According to The Guardian, Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is set to follow teammate Nani to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, after a four-year contract seems to have been agreed between the two parties. Only a day after Arsenal striker and German international Lukas Podolski announcing his move to Fenerbahce rivals Galatasaray, Fener seem to have pulled off another great deal and it seems as though, the Turkish league continues to add quality on a daily basis.
In three years at Manchester United, the prolific Dutchman scored an impressive 57 goals in 105 appearances for the Red Devils. However, last season in particular, van Persie was hit by several injury problems and United now seem to be looking for an alternative approach up front. At Fenerbahce, the Dutch forward will certainly add quality and may find himself competing in the Champions League. As for Manchester United, van Persie’s departure will obviously fuel speculation surrounding sought-after strikers such as Harry Kane.
