According to Spanish news outlet AS, Manchester United will only let goalkeeper David de Gea join Real Madrid if the Spanish club are willing to break the current world record transfer fee for goalkeepers, which stands at around €52 million, once paid by Juventus for Gianluigi Buffon.
Apparently, United are equally interested in a swap deal that would see Sergio Ramos move to Old Trafford in return. It is alleged that the Red Devils have already bid €45 million for the Spanish international, but were told that the defender is worth at least twice as much. In addition to this, AS also claims that United have offered Ramos a salary of €11 million per season, €3.5 million more than he currently earns at Real. The same sources report that Sergio Ramos has already agreed personal terms with United, with the Real being the only remaining stumbling block.
These two transfers seem fairly unlikely at the moment, but something might happen before the end of the transfer window and both players might end up playing in new shirts soon.
