According to French news outlet Le Parisien, Manchester United’s Argentinian winger has agreed to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain for the upcoming season for a fee believed to be in the region of €60 million. It remains to be seen as to whether this story is pure speculation, or if Angel di Maria has really decided to quit Old Trafford after just one season.
Manchester United’s club record-signing has struggled to live up to the expectations that come with such a high price-tag and has failed to settle in Northern England. At one stage, burglars broke into di Maria’s family home in Cheshire which has been up for sale since May 2015.
Despite his issues, di Maria’s raw performance statistics from last season do not look too bad, with the Argentinian winger contributing three goals and 11 assists to Manchester United’s fourth-place finish.
