Delph Joins City After All

Although Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph had confirmed his stay at Villa Park only a few days ago, with claims that he had rejected a move to Manchester City, the midfielder has now been confirmed as City’s next incoming Englishman, after The Citizens had recently added Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling to their squad.

City triggered the 25-year old’s release clause of €11.5 million and equipped Delph with a five-year contract. Manchester City’s squad now boasts six home-grown players. Given the FA’s requirement of having eight of these players in the squad, City are expected to continue their involvement in further transfers in the coming weeks.
