It was revealed yesterday that Chelsea are close to signing Ghana international left-back Abdul Rahman Baba from Bundesliga hotshots Augsburg. It is believed that the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee believed to be in the region of €25 million, which would certainly represent a great piece of business for Augsburg who have already signed a replacement in 21-year old Philipp Max who recently joined the Bavarians for a fee of €3.8 million from 2. With the purchase of Baba, Chelsea seem to have reacted on Luis Felipe’s departure from Stamford Bridge, although it is unclear as to whether the young Ghana defender will be able to nail a spot in Mourinho’s starting line-up.
